Weathermatic SmartWire SLGDT Lightning Arrestor (2-Wire)

Designed for Weathermatic SmartWire 2‑wire irrigation systems, the SLGDT Lightning Arrestor provides dedicated surge protection where it’s needed most. Compact and fully sealed, the SLGDT helps dissipate static charges from nearby lightning strikes to reduce damage to decoders, controllers, and other SmartWire components.

• SmartWire compatibility: Installs directly on SmartWire red and black conductors; requires no power from the 2‑wire system and is compatible only with SmartWire networks.
• Robust protection: Gas-discharge tube design protects approximately a 300‑foot radius and adds an extra measure of defense beyond built-in component safeguards.
• Durable construction: Sealed and impervious to moisture, salts, fertilizers and mild chemicals; shock resistant and rated for -20° to 60° C operation.
• Easy installation: Connect the red and black leads to the 2‑wire path and attach the green ground wire to a proper earth ground using the supplied SLCONN connector.
• Placement guidance: Install an SLGDT at the controller location, at the end of long runs, and approximately every 600 feet along extended 2‑wire paths for best protection.
• Manufacturer warranty: Standard limited warranty is two years; warranty extends to three years when installed with Weathermatic SLWIRE cable and SLCONN connectors.

The SLGDT is compact (approximately 2"×2"×1") and may be buried directly in soil where required. It requires minimal maintenance and provides a cost-effective, low-effort way to protect commercial SmartWire installations from lightning‑related surges and static events.
