Siesta® Insecticide Fire Ant Bait delivers professional, targeted control of imported and native fire ants. Formulated with metaflumizone on corn grit and soybean oil, the bait attracts foraging workers that carry it back to the colony, causing rapid cessation of feeding and eventual colony elimination.

• Active ingredient: Metaflumizone 0.063% — a sodium channel blocker (IRAC Group 22B) that produces relaxed paralysis in ants.
• Colony-level control: Workers feed bait to the queen, leading to colony collapse—rapid cessation of feeding often results within days.
• Application method: Best applied as a broadcast treatment with a calibrated hand, backpack, or push spreader; for larger acreage use ATV-, truck- or tractor-mounted spreaders.
• Recommended rate & timing: Apply 1.0–1.5 lb per acre when ants are actively foraging (typically above 60°F), preferably in early morning with no dew or late afternoon.
• Irrigation & weather: Do not water in granules after application; avoid treatment when ground is saturated or heavy rain is expected within 12 hours. If irrigation is required, wait at least 12 hours post-application.
