Lasco 439-166 is a Schedule 40 PVC threaded reducing bushing designed to join a larger threaded PVC line to a smaller one. It provides a reliable MIPT (male) to FIPT (female) connection for standard irrigation, potable water, pool, and chilled-water systems.

  • Material & standards: Molded from Schedule 40 PVC Type 1 (cell classification 12454-B) and manufactured to ASTM D2466. Meets NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF/ANSI 14 for drinking water components.
  • Size & threads: Reduces 1-1/4" nominal pipe size to 1/2" nominal. Male NPT (MIPT) x Female NPT (FIPT) threaded connection for easy assembly.
  • Pressure & temperature: Rated for typical cold-water system pressures (listed up to 600 PSI on manufacturer listings). Maximum recommended service temperature is 140°F (not for hot-water distribution).
  • Finish & color: White PVC finish for common plumbing and irrigation installations; resistant to corrosion and many chemicals used in outdoor systems.
  • Applications: Suitable for potable water, irrigation, pool and spa fittings, and general Schedule 40 PVC systems. Not recommended for compressed air or gas service.
  • Installation notes: Use approved PTFE thread tape or pipe dope on male threads. Hand-start threads then tighten to manufacturer torque recommendations.

Part number 439-166 is available in individual units and case quantities. Its Schedule 40 PVC construction delivers a low-cost, corrosion-resistant solution for reducing threaded connections where a reliable, certified potable-water component is required.
