Wilkins ZWFR 1/4-inch Freeze Relief Valve, 1/4-inch NPT

The Wilkins ZWFR 1/4-inch Freeze Relief Valve protects backflow preventers and pressure vacuum breakers from damage caused by sudden or unexpected freezes. Its compact, low-lead bronze construction and automatic temperature-activated discharge provide durable, maintenance-free protection for above-ground and exposed installations.

• Automatically opens at 35°F and closes at 40°F to discharge near-freezing water.
• Low-lead cast bronze body with 300-series stainless steel springs for corrosion resistance.
• 1/4-inch MNPT (male NPT) connection for downstream test cocks or attached piping.
• Rated for typical plumbing service with maximum working pressure up to 175 psi and maximum temperature up to 140°F.
• IAPMO listed (IGC 163-2001r1) and compatible with major backflow preventer brands and pressure vacuum breakers.

For best performance install the valve on the downstream test cock or attached piping in the vertical down position; horizontal installation is possible when needed.
